Infinitude
Artist Statement:
Through this project I wanted to make a statement about humanity and find a way to embody the feelings I have for it. The ouroboros is a snake that eats its own tail that represents infinity as coined by old alchemists. This symbol has been in my orbit since 2012 when I first learned about it and began applying it to my life. Humans are not infinite as the death of my uncle in 2008 made me realize but our existence is. The world around us is infinite to a degree and as humans we tend to fear the infinite, and don't believe that the world can go on without us. That leads to us as a collective forcibly trying to inject ourselves into this infinity , but by doing that, the cycle will never flow the same.
